We deliver the advantage that protects our Sailors, and our Families, and our Freedom. This is our Purpose – why we do what we do. However, our Purpose is much more than a statement. As we work hard every day to meet the growing demands at Electric Boat, we sometimes take for granted our impact on the nation.
Lauren Larson, Construction Program Manager, will introduce the purpose statement and invite Ken Perry, Vice President of Program Integration and Concept Development, and Captain Paul Whitescarver, New London SUBBASE’s commanding officer, to share how EB’s purpose has impacted them as sailors and citizens.
Ken Perry joined EB as vice president of Program Integration and Concept Development in 2015. He serves as a key contact with Navy senior leadership, Pentagon officials, industry groups and policy institutions to develop and implement advanced submarine and undersea capabilities that support the Navy and improve the company’s strategic position. He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and retired from the U.S. Navy as a rear admiral after 30 years of services. Mr. Perry is uniquely positioned to expand on how EB’s purpose served him as a Sailor and now as a leader within our company.
Captain Whitescarver became the 51st Commanding Officer of Naval Submarine Base New London in December 2015. He served aboard multiple submarines including as commanding officer of USS SCRANTON from 2009 to 2012. Capt. Whitescarver represents one of EB’s ultimate customers – our Sailors – and will provide a unique perspective of what EB’s work means to those who sail our subs.
Join us and, hopefully, a few members of our military for this engaging discussion.
